Mole problems and their corresponding cures:

By Micheal Adams

There is a popular method of mole removal and it is called elliptical excision. Anesthesia is administered once a person is having his moles separated from his skin. The local anesthesia will enable the patient to have his moles removed without suffering pain on the exact spot where the mole is located.

The technique is quite different from the other methods like laser or cryotherapy. The major side effect of this procedure is the scar formation. But you can't avoid it. It is not a very costly operation and it also seems to be less painful.

The scars will gradually vanish as time passes. But a slight trace will always remain. But many people still choose to undergo this procedure. The scarring will be dealt with later on with other specialty surgeries or treatments, after the operation.

Comparing elliptical excision and shave excision would show the former to be the riskier method. It seems to be more dangerous because the skin will be deeply cut. Cutting the skin too much, too deep, opens the possibilities of skin infections. This could lead to further complications. Bleeding could be more profuse. The severity of the wound could be very worrying. This would mean that the recovery period for the wound will generally be longer than in other methods.

The operation will have to cover a large area. An oval shape will be cut into the skin. The area covered includes both the mole and the skin around it. The effect on the skin will be greater.

Why, then, do people choose this method if scarring and skin damage are likely probabilities?

In this method, there are lesser chances that the moles will recur. It is the core problem that is concentrated on. No matter how deeply rooted the moles are, they can be removed. Practically all moles can be removed by this technique.

Cryotherapy is another treatment recommended by doctors. Another good option is Laser. If you research on the internet on the various methods and their advantages and disadvantages, the better off you'll be. Obviously, cryotherapy is about the use of very low temperatures. The freezing cold will destroy the cells in the skin moles. The main ingredient used in liquid nitrogen. Cells can be easily frozen. This might not work on deeply rooted moles, though. It is effective on shallow moles. This is the downside to this method. You will be taking risks if you use this method on moles that are deeply rooted.

You can do this in two ways. Using liquid nitrogen is one. It will be directly applied on the moles. The other option is to use frozen liquid nitrogen. The layers of the skin will be injected with it. A frozen instrument will be used for this. Moles' skin cells will be killed off instantly.

It won't take long for the healing to occur since the moles in the deeper skin layers will remain untouched. Only those that are found on the surface of the skin are eliminated.
