Calcium happens to be the most abundant mineral in the human body and it is highly important for strong bones it is also needed to aid blood vessels and muscles to contract and expand, to send messages through the nervous system, and to produce hormones and enzymes. It makes up about 1-2% of adult body weight being the most plentiful mineral in our bodies. 99% of it is stored in bones and teeth the rest is used in blood, muscle, and other tissues.

Gas, bloating and constipation are common side effects of calcium supplements but these minor side effects definitely overshadow the benefits this supplement brings to your bone health. You can also easily find a relief to these side effects such as scattering dosages throughout the day, taking food with your supplement, and trying brand that suits you, etc.

Osteoporosis which is a result of low calcium can cause bones fractures more often. Bones can break from a minor fall, or in severe cases, from sneezing causing fragile fractures. Bone breakdown occurs when your calcium intake is low because the body uses the calcium from bones to maintain more important biological functions such as generating a heartbeat, nerve and muscle function.
