Triphala Churna - Ayurvedic Remedy with Potential Anti-Cancer Properties




Ayurvedic medicine originated in India, and attempts to cure disease by addressing factors such as nutrition and state of mind in addition to using herbal formulations to handle illness. One potent ayurvedic medicine which has been studied scientifically is Triphala Churna. This medicine is comprised of equal parts of three fruits rich in antioxidants, gallic acid and ascorbic acid.

In their oft-cited “Triphala Inhibits Both In Vitro and In Vivo Xenograft Growth of Pancreatic Tumor Cells by Inducing Apoptosis,” researchers Yan Shi, Ravi P Sahu and Sanjay K Srivastava state that this ayurvedic medicine significantly reduced cancerous tumors in both stomach and pancreatic cells in mice. Furthermore, it appears to suppress the survival of breast cancer cells. Before using this as part of a treatment plan, consult with a licensed health care practitioner.
