Using The Latest Witchcraft Spells Is Important

By Kimberly Walker

Magic, sorcery, the Black arts; there are many different terms for the casting of witchcraft spells. Wiccans or pagans have been using such enchantments and charms for many years to harness occult forces or spirits to produce unnatural effects. In this modern, digital age, the internet provides many insights into the previously secretive world of occultism. There are even on-line covens, but don't let this lull you into the belief that by simply lighting some incense and mumbling some arcane words you will become the next Harry Potter!

The witch relies on nine basic tools of the trade. A wand is used in ceremonial magic to direct energy. It is a potent phallic symbol that represents virility. The knife, or athame is another phallic representation of the god, and also directs energy during spell-casting. Witches also use the pentacle as a protective talisman. The pentacle normally takes the form of a flat piece of wood, wax, clay or metal, and it is inscribed with symbols of magic, typically including the pentagram.

Prior to the performance of a ritual, the witch's broom (or besom) will be used to sweep clean the ceremonial space. The besom cleanses the area of negative energies as well as clearing the physical environment. Witch's brooms are made from a bunch of birch twigs connected to a staff of oak or ash and bound together with willow wands.

Other required items for the casting of blessings, hexes or invocations include candles to represent the male god or the element of Fire. Bells are used to drive away evil spirits. The vibrating sound waves from the bell are considered to be a source of magical power. Witches also use censers to hold smouldering incense.

The "book of shadows" is a witch's personal notebook. It contains the Wiccan's information along with details of spells, rituals, invocations, charm bags and healing herbs. Another essential item of the witch's paraphernalia is the cauldron. This should be made of cast-iron, sitting on three sturdy legs, with a securely fitting lid and a strong handle. The cauldron, cup, or chalice all serve as symbols of rebirth, illumination, inspiration, and rejuvenation. Not only is the cauldron a representation of the womb, but it is also thought of as the fifth elemental spirit.

Wicca began as a fertility religion. Sacred sex is part of this heritage as the Great Rite is enacted to symbolize the joining of the god and goddess to create the universe. Ritual sex is also used to raise energy, create magical power, and as a sacramental act of love.

Masturbation and sexual release can also be valid ways of raising the energy needed to cast spells. At Beltane, the season of fertility, rituals are aimed at ensuring a bountiful harvest. The Romans took their wives into the fields and had sex on the ground to guarantee that the land would be productive. Menstruating witches added their blood to the soil to add potency.

Witchcraft spells can be used to cause lust or love. There are binding spells and dream magic. Charms can ease a broken heart or help find lost items. There are many ways to learn magick spells that can help make your life run more smoothly, however, for the inexperienced, it is advisable to stay away from dark magick.
