Hemorrhoids What Are They

By David Springall

Hemorrhoids happen when veins swell inside the anus.

If they develop close to the anal opening they are called external hemorrhoids.

Their are two more types called internal hemorrhoids which occur higher in the anus , and prolapsing which are on the outside.

Some people may have a congenital weakness of the veins in the anus which make the development of hemorrhoids more likely.

Hemorrhoids are caused by increased pressure in the veins of the anus, usually due to straining to pass hard faeces.

Such faeces may result from a poor diet that contains too many highly refined foods that lack sufficent fibre.

Prolapsing hemorrhoids discharge a mucous liquid and itching on the outside of the anus.

One of the complications of a prolapse is thrombosis and strangulation which is where a clot forms in the vein not allowing it to spring back into the position of the anus.

The blood supply becomes reduced and causes extreme pain and prolonged bleeding.

Its blood supply is reduced and this can cause extreme pain and may result in prolonged bleeding.

Here are a list of foods that are recomended for anyone who suffers from hemorrhoids

1/ Plenty of whole gran foods, like cereals, wholewheat breads, brown rice.

Fruit is a great way to help eat healthy.

carrotts.

Get plenty of dried and fresh fruits such as prunes, apricots, oranges, rasberries.

5/ Make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your body well hydrated.

Now we come the bad part of things to avoid most.

As usual it is the things we all like most that harm us.

Soda drinks,coffee,energy drinks,alcohol.

Cereals that are high in sugar.

Any products that are made from white flower e.g pastries, cookies, spicy foods, bread processed foods.

Spicy foods, processed foods that have a high salt content.

I know you are saying whats the point of living if you cannot have the cake of your choice , but trust me follow the above and in time you can introduce the odd treat once you have your hemorrhoids under control.
