Light Up a Candle for 1,000 Hours Without Fire

People who appreciate and value home energy and sustainability are continuously looking for more and more ways to increase the efficient use of energy in their homes. While making use of energy efficient products, we can not only increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our products at home and save energy, but we can also save a huge amount of money when it comes time for us to pay our energy bills.

There are many energy efficient products available for you to buy and there are also many more currently being developed. One of the most famous categories of energy efficient products is known as "energy efficient light bulbs", or "new generation lighting", which includes all lighting systems that consume less energy than former alternatives.

This article will focus on one specific product from this category, which is now replacing real candles more often than not - the energy saving candle bulb.

"Why use energy saving light bulbs? What's wrong with the normal filament bulbs?"

Before we talk about the unique benefits that candle bulbs have over real candles, let's first take a look into the general advantages that energy saving light bulbs have over conventional filament bulbs:

1. Energy saving light bulbs consume 20% (or less) of the energy that normal filament light bulbs use. This means that if you're paying 1.2 cents to keep a filament light bulb on for one hour (which is how much we pay on average), you'll be paying 0.24 cents for an energy efficient bulb, for the same amount of time.

2. Energy efficient bulbs emit pure white light. This is a special benefit because the regular filament bulbs give off a yellowish light, which isn't liked by most people and sometimes it just isn't bright enough for our needs. This is often why we resort to buying more and more of these inefficient bulbs in an attempt to multiply the amount of light we have.

3. New generation lighting systems can last up to 10 times longer than filament bulb lights. This means you can literally forget about your energy efficient light bulbs for quite a while (2-3 years at least), once you've bought and installed them - you won't need to change them nearly as often as you change your normal light bulbs which saves you money.

4. Energy efficient light bulbs draw less power and emit only a tiny bit of energy as heat. Filament light bulbs heat up tremendously after a certain time of being turned on, to the point where they can burn skin if touched, and they also make a little bit of noise - both of these are not part of the purpose of a light bulb and so they are classified as waste energy. Energy efficient light bulbs make no noise, and they don't heat up anywhere near as much as filament light bulbs, making them more efficient and safer to handle.

Now we can talk about candle bulbs and the unique benefits they have. Candle bulbs are well on their way of replacing real candles because of the numerous advantages that they have over them.

As a short summary of these benefits and advantages:

1. Candle bulbs are under the same category as all other energy efficient light bulbs, and so they have the same qualities as in the list above.

2. Candle bulbs require no fire to light up; they are simply bulbs that can be powered just like other bulbs in your home. This means that they are not dangerous to small children, pets, or even your furniture.

3. Candle bulbs can be put anywhere in your room. You can even have wall scones inside which your candle bulbs can be placed. They look incredibly similar to real candles at a reasonable distance as they can even produce the same flickering light effect as real candles.

4. Since candle bulbs require no fire to light up, they do not burn air and make any form of smoke - real candles do harm the environment for this reason, even though it may be considered negligible. Candle bulbs produce no such smoke, and they can constantly stay lit for 1000 hours; which is up to 200 times longer than a real candle - and the also cost half as much as real candles!

Candle bulbs are replacing real candles just like energy efficient light bulbs are replacing classical filament bulbs. Considering the advantages of energy efficient light bulbs and candle bulbs, this is not at all surprising - making a change from using traditional lighting methods in your home to using energy efficient ones can save you hundreds of dollars per year on your energy bills, and also keep your home lit up brighter and for 10 times as long.
