The Practice Of Psychic Seduction And Allurement

By Charles Harris

If any marketing agent has an idea more seductive than psychic seduction, he or she should congratulate themselves. It's hard to see what could be better than making sex fantasies real just by fantasizing better. Looked at more closely, not everything that gets called "psychic" is really so far outside of everyday common sense.

Some authors stress the appeal of a deep, masculine voice, and suggest learning to speak, not from our nasal chambers, but from our diaphragm. Some programs take it a step further, and recommend refinements to our vocabulary choices, noting that passive verbs convey a lack of confidence. At times the advice could have come from Grandma, such as holding ourselves with good posture, or that we become more social just to be better around strangers.

Some other tactics can seem more truly psychic but once one scratches the surface it would be better to think of them as psychological. One of the standard tenets of the genre is that however one feels about one's real worthiness will communicate to our would-be lovers when we speak to them. Another form of psychological self-manipulation lies in teaching us to be specific with ourselves in that we are looking for sex, not just an asexual best-buddies relationship.

It can be a thin line, but many sexual self-empowerment techniques definitely cross over into a territory that is definitely paranormal to some degree. Much attention is paid to the cultivation of our power of visualization, and the implication is that this doesn't just affect our own behavior, but the universe around us, including other people, in some direct manner. There is also emphasis given to the power of the gaze that suggests some form of hypnotic prowess is being developed.

Some lessons emphasize cultivating influence over one's own aural pattern of energy so that it is in synch with the aura of the lover one means to win. Other lessons refer to brain waves rather than anything as New Age sounding as auras or other subtle energies. In either case, the hope is to achieve a sort of correspondence of invisible energies that will draw the couple together through unseen attraction.

Some of the most extreme claims involve being able to direct a would-be lover's dreams, inserting the suggestion of a future sexual encounter. Often such claimants point to the everyday quality of such apparently fantastic powers. They are, it is claimed, that which distinguishes the leading man from the actor who always ends up playing the leading man's best friend.

Every now and then, an author will even broach the question of whether this activity can ever be ethically applied. The overall view, perhaps self-serving, is that this is not a form of psychic rape. A better, or simply more useful analogy is that this is akin to using a certain type of cologne, though perhaps one spiked with pheromones.

There are numerous types of New Age or paranormal practices trying to make the rounds, so a dash of sex helps put any one practice ahead of the pack. The promise that we can attain the lover we thought was unattainable is sure to draw attention. Psychic seduction seems sure to draw a great deal of attention on the paranormal marketplace.
