Witchcraft Spells For Twenty-first Century Magic

By Kimberly Walker

Since ancient times, there have been people who use magic or supernatural powers for good or evil purposes. To do this, they use a combination of potions, rituals and incantations. These are collectively known as witchcraft spells.

It is not only the reason for the magic that determines how it is performed. The cultural background of the witch is an important factor too. Even the availability of certain ingredients and tools will determine the ritual involved.

In fairytales, witches often used some very interesting ingredients in their potions and enchantments. In practice it isn't that easy to find dragon's claws, but if you want to try your hand at magic, you'll find that many of the supplies you need are readily available from your local supermarket or health store. You can also order supplies online or get them from shops that specialize in the esoteric.

The spells themselves are easy to find too. There are hundreds of websites dedicated to Wicca, the ancient religion that many modern witches follow. You will also find many books of spells. They will explain the tools and ingredients you need, the rituals you need to perform and the invocations you need to recite.

Name a problem and there will be some kind of magic for it. There are spells for making yourself more attractive, becoming confident or courageous, attracting money or luck and also for protection. In addition, there are thousands of ways to perform magic to attract love, make love stronger or to end relationships.

Many people classify magic into two groups. Black magic is negative and destructive. White magic is the opposite. It is positive and constructive. However, in practice it's not quite as simple as black or white. What may be intended to be constructive may have very negative consequences for someone somewhere, or vice versa.

Magic, whether white or black, is extremely powerful. If you don't perform it correctly or if you don't have the proper skills, you can hurt yourself and others. It's best to start with easier enchantments and get some training with a more experienced witch if you're just starting out. In this way, you will build up your powers and be more prepared to deal with magic that backfires.

For witchcraft spells to work, you not only need to cast them correctly using the right ingredients, but you also need to do this at the proper time. The day of the week, the phase of the moon and even the time of year will have an effect. You also need to believe that the magic will work. However, before you cast any spell, think carefully about the possible outcome. Wiccans talk about the Threefold Law, which means that any magic you perform will come back to you threefold, whether it is good or bad. Therefore, you need to be prepared to bear the consequences of your magic.
